Thailand’s Vibhavadi Hospital was caught off guard on December 27, Sunday when it was ordered to stop advertising about sale of Covid-19 vaccinations in advance. The advertisement was totally unacceptable since no vaccine is yet approved in Thailand. The reservations were priced at 4,000 baht (S$177).
It was not a surprise to hear Vibhavadi Hospital telling Reuters that its online offer for 1,000 initial reservations for the two-dose Moderna vaccine was the result of a misunderstanding.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the hospital violated regulations since no Covid-19 vaccine has yet been approved for use in Thailand. It was ordered to remove the advertisement.
We believe in this situation of crisis we all need to be more sensitive towards our projections and promises.
